Serving Kenosha, WI since 2008
Kenosha sits right on Lake Michigan, and the lakeshore conditions are hard on foundations. Winters run mild by day and drop below freezing overnight, so the ground freezes and thaws over and over, shifting the soil and pressing against foundation walls. The dense clay common across the area holds water instead of draining it, which builds pressure against the walls every time a storm comes through. In older homes near the shoreline, that combination shows up as cracks, leaks, and settling.
Accurate Basement Repair handles all of it: wet basements, foundation cracks, and walls that have begun to move. We have repaired Kenosha foundations since 2008, and every repair is backed by our Guaranteed Solutions for Life™ warranty. For homeowners getting work done before a property sale, we’re trusted by inspectors, engineers, and realtors across Southeast Wisconsin.

The door to the spare room sticks now, the one that always closed fine before. Then you notice the crack running up from the corner of the frame, and when you go down to the basement there’s another one stepping down the block wall. The floor might dip a little toward one side of a room, or a wall down there has started to lean in. It came on slowly, and it is not going to settle back on its own.
The right foundation repair depends on what’s driving the movement. We seal cracks with injection before they let in more water. We hold bowing walls with steel beams or carbon fiber strapping so they stop moving inward. We lift and stabilize settled foundations with push piers and helical piers anchored in load-bearing soil. When a wall is too damaged to save from the inside, we excavate and rebuild it.
A foundation repair that fails just means tearing back into the same wall a year later. Accurate has worked on Kenosha foundations since 2008, we diagnose every home in person before recommending anything, and we back the work with our Guaranteed Solutions for Life™ warranty. It transfers to the next owner, which is worth real money when you sell.

There’s a damp, earthy smell at the bottom of the basement stairs that wasn’t there before. The boxes stored against the wall have soaked up water and gone soft at the corners, the drywall is dark along the baseboard, and the last heavy storm left a line of standing water across the floor. A basement that takes on water once keeps doing it, every time the ground outside saturates.
Basement waterproofing works by controlling where that water goes. Interior drain tile under the slab catches it at the footing and feeds a sump pump that pushes it back outside. A battery backup keeps the pump running through the power outages that tend to arrive with the same storms that flood the basement. When water is pushing through the wall itself, an interior membrane and exterior drainage redirect it, and a protected discharge line carries it far enough out that it doesn’t drain straight back toward the house.
A lot of companies sell the same package to every house. At Accurate, a Certified Foundation Specialist comes out, traces where the water is actually getting in, and designs the system around your basement instead of a catalog. On the older homes near the lake, where the water problems run deepest, that’s the difference between a basement that stays dry and one that floods again next spring. And because a system only protects the house as long as it keeps running, Lifetime TotalCare™ maintenance keeps the pump, drainage, and moving parts working for good.
Turning a basement into a bedroom in Kenosha means meeting Wisconsin’s building code, and that code requires a real way out. Any basement sleeping room needs an egress window large enough to climb through and to let a firefighter in, set low enough to actually use. Put in a bedroom without one and it won’t pass inspection, and it won’t be safe.
Accurate handles the whole job, not just the window. We cut the foundation opening, excavate and set the window well, install a code-compliant window, and tie in drainage so the well doesn’t turn into a place for water to collect against the house. The opening also brings daylight and fresh air into a space that probably hasn’t had either, which makes a finished basement feel like part of the home instead of the room below it.
A lot of egress work runs on a deadline, a basement being finished for a sale or an appraisal that hinges on a bedroom counting as a bedroom. We size the job up front, pull the permit, and get it done on the timeline the project needs.

The basement runs the full footprint of the house, and most of it goes unused. The ceiling sits too low to stand under comfortably, so it’s been storage since you moved in. You’d finish it into a bedroom or an office if you could, but a ceiling under seven feet won’t pass as living space, and on Kenosha’s older homes near the lake that low clearance is common.
A dig-out solves it by lowering the floor itself. Accurate excavates beneath the existing slab, underpins the foundation so it stays stable at the new depth, installs drainage to keep the lower floor dry, and pours a fresh slab. That adds a foot or two of headroom, enough to turn a low, unusable basement into a room that meets code and feels like part of the house.
Lowering a floor means working under a foundation that’s holding up the house, which is why it takes engineered plans, permits, and a crew that has done it before. Accurate handles the whole job in-house, from slab removal to the final pour, and works with the building inspectors so the finished space is documented and legal when you go to sell or refinance.
